Time After Time
Sid Wolf on guitar
With The Ben Taylor Trio

Sid took up the guitar at the age of 10 just after seeing some footage of The Beatles performing on television; and played his first gig at the age of 13. Also around the age of 13, while playing the upright bass, he developed an interest in classical music. A couple of years later Sid saw Andres Segovia on television and immediately became interested in playing classical music on the nylon string guitar. It was also around this time that, after hearing some jazz recordings, he decided to study jazz as well. During all this time, Sid continued to play in bands that covered songs by The Beatles, Otis Redding, The Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett, Jimi Hendrix, Steely Dan, B.B. King, Stevie Wonder, and many others.

By the age of 21 Sid had performed in all types of live music venues in 15 states. He continues to enjoy playing different styles of music, focusing primarily on jazz, rock, blues and funk - "all rolled into one". He has performed in concert and clinics with Dizzy Gillespie, Donald Byrd, The Drifters, members of the Buddy Rich Band, Martha and the Vandellas, The Coasters, Peter Erskine, Shawn Lane, Chris Duarte, Tommy Tedesco, Gunther Schuller, and others.

Currently, Sid is also working on several recording projects. One is a solo guitar project which consists of his arrangements of songs by The Beatles, Prince, The Doors, and others, along with some original compositions. The next project is jazz-oriented and will feature some wonderfully talented Atlanta area guest artists with whom Sid has had the good fortune of working. It will feature mostly original instrumental tunes and maybe a couple of jazz standards. The third project is an all-original funky, bluesy sort of thing that will include vocals and lots of playing.

Sid has had the privilege of recording and performing with some great musicians here in Atlanta on various projects. These include Chris Duarte, Will Scruggs, Dave Ellington, Dustin Sargent, Wes Funderburk, Zack Pride, Matt Stallard, Eric Sanders, Louis Heriveaux, Chris Burroughs, Ben Taylor, Luke Emig, Marlon Patton, Kevin Scott, Steve Mays, Caroline Aiken, Alan Jackson and many others.

Sid was a senior instructor at the Atlanta Institute of Music (AIM) from 1991 through 1997, where he taught fourteen classes a week, and designed the curriculum for the school.  When not performing, Sid currently teaches at Maple Street Guitars in the Buckhead area of Atlanta, GA.

Sid Wolf picked up the guitar when he was ten years old, and he never looked back. He has performed with a variety of acts, sharing the stage with Martha and The Vandellas, The Drifters, The Coasters, members of Steely Dan, Dizzy Gillespie, members of The Hank Williams Junior Band, Morris Day & the Time, Guitar Masters Shawn Lane and Chris Duarte, and the Chris Duarte Group, members of The Dixie Dregs, members of The Buddy Rich Band, and many more.  His years of experience on stage and in the studio and his excitement about the music are transmitted to the audience. He has a unique, eclectic style with elements of rock, blues, funk, jazz and R&B.
